Family Hub — what your people are posting
Family Hub is the one screen in Sahidha that isn't about money. It's a quiet social feed: each family member's latest public post from the platforms they choose to list — a YouTube upload, a post on X or Mastodon, a Substack or Medium piece — gathered onto one page. The idea: a family that shares its finances here can also keep loosely up with each other's public life here, without anyone having to follow everyone everywhere.
What the screen shows
One card per person, showing their newest public post across all the handles they've added: title, a short text preview, a thumbnail when the platform provides one, when it was posted, and a View button that opens the real post on the platform itself. Sahidha stores only that lightweight preview — the content stays on the platform.
Cards are labelled You, Family, or — for people connected through a kutumb — the kutumb's name, and filter chips along the top let you narrow the feed to any of those groups.
Adding your handles
My handles (top-right) opens a small editor — one row per platform (YouTube, X, Mastodon, Instagram, LinkedIn, Substack, Medium, Reddit, Facebook, or any RSS feed). Paste a handle or the profile URL; save or remove each independently. Handles are yours as a person, not the family's — you manage your own, and they stay with you.
Some platforms allow fetching a latest-post preview; some only allow linking out — those cards show "View their latest on [Platform]" instead of a preview. If a handle can't be resolved, the card says so plainly, so typos surface quickly.
Who sees what
- Your family: every active member of your family sees each other's cards automatically. Guests don't get the Family Hub at all.
- Kutumb co-members: if you're in a kutumb, you also see your co-members' cards, tagged with the kutumb's name — but they are not shown to the rest of your family. Cross-household visibility on the Hub follows the same principle as everywhere else in Sahidha: it belongs to the person in the circle, never broadcast to their whole family.
Family Hub vs. the Dashboard
Simple split: the Dashboard is the financial snapshot — net worth, balances, budgets, what needs attention. Family Hub carries zero financial data. If you're looking for numbers, you're on the wrong screen, and that's by design.
Post previews are cached briefly to keep the page fast. The refresh button re-fetches everyone's latest immediately — useful right after someone adds a new handle.
